Be Aware - the New Bern Police need your help.

The New Bern Police Department has recently been experiencing an unusual amount of B&E's (break and entry) into vehicles, residential homes and businesses. It is occurring across the city and not in one particular area. They have been investigating suspects, but others are still out there.

Police need your feedback to catch these criminals. Report anything looking suspicious. Call in details of what you saw; time of day, vehicle make, color, license, or person identification; sex, race, hair color, clothing, distinctive characteristics. Any part of this information is important to report.

Safety Tip Reminders:Make sure vehicle doors and windows are locked at all times - even in your driveway. Do not leave valuables in plain view (i.e., purses, cell phone, packages, loose change). Businesses - keep a light on and have valuables out of plain view. Make sure motion detector lights are working. Trim hedges around home and place of business.
